Chaired by Barb Kinnaird, CEO of Response Biomedical, the ACETECH board of directors brings together a group of experienced leaders who are committed to supporting the growth of the tech industry in BC by helping CEOs lead better, grow faster, and get connected. Together they validate the strategic direction of the organization and ensure that ACETECH holds true to its mission.
Dr. Barbara Kinnaird, Chair
CEO, Response Biomedical Corp.
Dr. Barbara Kinnaird has over 25 years of research and business experience primarily in the fields of point of care (POC) testing and in vitro diagnostics. Dr. Kinnaird has held several key management positions including responsibilities for Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Sales. She has consistently demonstrated her ability to deliver results from her areas of responsibility.
Brian Clare, Vice-Chair
CEO, one45 Software
Brian joined one45 in 2003 and was one of the company’s first software developers. He became CEO in January 2011, and attended his first ACETECH event a few months later. One45 is working at being a global force in medical education technology. At medical education industry conferences, you’ll see Brian’s staff not only at their booth, but taking detailed notes at conference sessions. These notes are presented back to the entire company. We’re continually learning about trends and new research in medical education – so that we can serve you as your program changes.

VP Global Sales & Marketing, ResponseTek
Peter co-founded and served as CEO of RewardStream (TSX: REW), an award-winning loyalty & referral marketing platform that has been deployed for top brands around the globe. He currently serves as Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing for ResponseTek, a global leader in Customer Experience Management (CEM) technology with offices on four continents.
Peter relocated to Vancouver in the mid-1990s after working with Bain & Company on management consulting engagements in North America, Australia, and Hong Kong.
In his spare time, Peter loves spending time with his wife and two active boys traveling, biking, surfing, and paddle-boarding.
Peter holds a degree in Economics from University of Western Ontario and an Honours Business Administration (HBA) degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
CEO, Aspect Biosystems
An entrepreneur, engineer, inventor, Tamer currently serves as President and CEO of Aspect Biosystems. The company is tackling some of the biggest challenges in medicine by enabling the 3D printing of human tissues on demand. Tamer co-founded Aspect in 2013 and has played a leading role in overall corporate, business, and technology development. Under his leadership, Aspect has secured significant funding and entered strategic collaborations with best-in-class pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. As a leader and visionary in the field of 3D bioprinting, he has been invited to speak on this topic at venues ranging from TEDx to industry, scientific and executive conferences. In 2017, he was awarded with BC’s Top 40 under 40 award for demonstrating excellence in business, judgement, leadership, and community contribution. Tamer holds a B.A.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and M.A.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Managing Partner, Drive Digital
Originally from Montreal, Miles ultimately decided to gain a BA in English Literature from UBC and make Vancouver his home. He joined Drive Digital as one of the first handful of employees and has led the agency from a strategic and leadership perspective since 2014. His passion lies in bridging the gap between Drive’s client’s current business technologies and where they hope to go. Drive Digital is a creative digital agency that provides clients across North America with a wide range of digital design and development services. Miles’ spare time is spent playing basketball or navigating the complex emotional relationship between him and his wife’s cat.
