David Yoffle

Dr. David Yoffie

Professor, Harvard Business School

Professor David B. Yoffie is the Max and Doris Starr Professor of International Business Administration at Harvard Business School. A member of the HBS faculty since 1981, Professor Yoffie received his Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Brandeis University and his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford. Over the last two decades, Professor Yoffie has chaired the HBS Strategy department, the Advanced Management Program, Harvard’s Young Presidents’ Organization program, and now chairs Harvard’s World Presidents’ Organization program. He currently teaches competitive and corporate strategy in the Owner/President Management Program. Professor Yoffie’s writings on business strategy and technology have been widely published. Professor Yoffie is the author or editor of nine books, including Masters of Strategy: Lessons from Bill Gates, Andy Grove, and Steve Jobs for the Next Generation of CEOs and Entrepreneurs (forthcoming), co-authored with MIT Professor Michael Cusumano and Judo Strategy (Harvard Business School Press, 2001), co-authored with Mary Kwak.

Cody Royle is the Head Coach of AFL Team Canada, the Managing Partner of NTSQ Sports, and the Author of Where Others Won’t. He witnessed first-hand how businesses regularly overlook people strategy as a way to gain a competitive advantage. Dr. Barbara Kinnaird has served as Chief Executive Officer since May, 2015. Prior to taking on this role, Dr. Kinnaird had Executive Management responsibility for Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing and Sales after joining the Company in 2004. Through Dr. Kinnaird’s leadership, the Company has expanded from Point of Care testing into a global Acute Care Diagnostics leader, transforming diagnostic testing worldwide, with the central focus on patient outcomes and healthcare reform. Dr. Kinnaird has over 25 years of research and business experience in the fields of Acute Care Diagnostics and Point of Care (POC) testing. Dr. Kinnaird holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of British Columbia at the B.C. Children’s Hospital in the Department of Pediatrics. She conducted her post-doctoral research at the Michael Smith Laboratories in genomics and gene expression profiling, in collaboration with the B.C. Genome Sciences Centre.

The Summit will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3 and end at 5:00 p.m. Friday April, 5, 2019.  The full event schedule will be available in March 2019.
Yes, non members are welcome to register for the Summit or come as a guest of an existing member.  To be eligible to attend you must be a CEO of a technology based company.
There is no registration fee for ACETECH members—the Whistler Summit is just one of the many benefits of membership.
The registration fee for non members is $2395. Consider becoming an ACETECH member for only $1500 more. Now is the perfect time to join: your Whistler Summit registration is included in your membership and you’ll benefit all year long from our exclusive CEO roundtables; Growth Essentials Program; workshops; networking events, and more…
We encourage you to stay at the Fairmont Chateau to take advantage of special rates and informal networking opportunities. Another option is the Glacier Lodge & Suites, which offers a reasonable rates and is located right next to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
We invite spouses and partners to purchase tickets and join our Summit evening social events. Stay tuned for more details.
Also, Spring is a special time of year at Whistler—warmer temperatures and longer days offer a wealth of opportunities in the mountains and village. Your spouse or partner can choose from: skiing and snowshoeing;  hiking and sightseeing with guided tours; shopping and dining; or relaxing at one of many luxurious spas.

Babysitting services are available through Babysitting Whistler, which is a childcare and nanny agency that provides safe, fun, and active care for children aged newborn to 14 years. Please visit the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Guest Services for more information.
The pool and hotel facilities at Fairmont Chateau Whistler are only available to registered guests staying at the Chateau.
There is no formal event planned for the evening of Tuesday, April 2, however we encourage Summit attendees to gather in the iconic Mallard Lounge at the Fairmont Chateau for an informal meet and greet on Tuesday evening, April 2.
The Summit schedule of events begins at 1:00 p.m. in the conference facilities at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Our Summit sponsors, KPMG and McMillan, will be hosting events on Wednesday morning, April 3. More details to follow.
The final speaker session ends at 3:30 p.m. followed by an informal closing reception until 5:00 p.m.
Accommodation is not included in the conference fee, however the following food and beverages are included: dinner on Wednesday, April 3; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Thursday, April 4; and breakfast, lunch and a closing reception on Friday, April 5.
